Karamoon Konversation

A Roleplay Community in Secondlife

So.... alot of my friends play your evil people of karamoon.

I myself play an outlaw currently, but considering I've been around for a while i've pretty much played every role at least at one point or another.

but enough about me. I wanted to make this post today on behalf of those evil people of Karamoon.

So, Today when i logged on earlier i was startled to find that they had officially decided to throw the gauntlet down in kara. I had heard from some of my evil friends of how they had carved a swath through Ravens the day before. You guys wanted evil. you guys wanted raids. and they certainly have gotten it for you. I'd suggest those which play good characters get your butts in gear and start popping out some good ol` paladin esk people that will fight against the evils that we got now...

but for the love of all that is good and holy....dont whine..... Dont start trying to slant the tables via other means to fight the evil that has been stepped up a notch. Step it up a notch yourselves. the challenge should be met head on.

Admins! yeah you guys..... if the sim is gonna start really fighting each other tempers are going to flair. i HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest that you guys get off your butts and moderate some battles. I'm not saying its 100% needed all the time, but if their is more then 2 or 3 people storming around in another persons' stronghold laying waste to stuff, it might be a good idea to have an ooc admin there witnessing stuff to make sure people play by the rules of engagements. Tempers are going to flair and its your job to make sure stuff is running smoothly. No whining about having to lose some of your time role playing to moderate. that's your job

comon....karamoon is a family, lets kill each other with a smile on our faces. regardless of IC drama OOC we should, at the end of the day, try and get along.

Darthiir hates you all!

But I love you guys!

Couldn't have been said better. Whining causes OOC strife and you end up losing more good players than the whining accomplished. I think players would find that they would actually enjoy RP more if they'd just roll with the punches and use whatever comes their way to develop their characters. If you want your character to follow a set path you need to grab some dice and a gamemaster 'n hide out in a basement somewhere for a weekend. This is freeform RP and you're roleplaying here for a reason.

I also agree with having a admin present for raids. The Northvegr always ensured there was an OOC admin available to moderate the fight for both our defense (as we were constantly accused of foul play) and to also help mediate any OOC drama that occured after the fight. Now I understand that the Keep has several admins within its ranks so I think its important to have an impartial admin mediating the fights. Perhaps one from Ravenscraig?

here here, although i dont like the D&D crack =p

any good DM perhaps will have set lines for his characters but....he certainly doesnt fully follow any goal of the players. Players should merely create a persona. from there you can only react to what happens in the world around your. inevitably created by your DM.

At a larp i regularly attend they underline this all the time. ACT AS YOUR PLAYER WOULD ACT. you are playing secondlife for the most part to get away from your real world. if you actually step back and get into someone elses's skin (hopefully your characters) you will come away from it WORLDS more relaxed and look at the experience with alot more smiles.

some of the best role plays i've ever had (both in my larp and in other role play venues like karamoon) were absolutely terrible moments for my character. I personally however was having a blast because it was such an intense emotional experience.

i sware. if you let yourself be that someone else....you will too!

Joke aside,Moderation is good,Meter combat is okay, but If ya ain't got a weapon be courteous to try a ... -gasp-.. Text fight,The challenge of true intellect and rather than your twitchy fingers and how bad Karamoon might lag when you go for a death strike.. <3

Battle was moderated with admin presence and in the end although there was an sl glitch that meant some people didn't hear the warning, even though they were in chat range, it was agreed the rp was good and was not voided.

So yes, lets love the efforts that Kain and Timmay spent in stopping at the end checking if everything was ok, working out who heard what and getting player agreement about going ahead. If anyone assumed the admins aren't doing much, perhaps its good just to check with them. You (players in general, not Darthiir who knows since she used to be an admin) may be surprised to hear how much time they spend thinking about creatingn rp and letting it be balanced, regardless of what side they play on.

Well said Darthir.. please people dont whine.. grab hold of this opportunity and enjoy the ride.. if it truely isnt your bag there are places you can rp in safety.. and iot will all be over soon-ish.

As for moderation, come on Darthir, you know full well that the strong team of admins we have are all over this event like a rash. Your insight into tempers, well.. is insightful. But I have to say the inferrence that any of the admin would WHINE about losing some of their rp is stuff and nonsense. The work we all put in regrdless of what we wish to be doing is phenominal, so you can leave that type of advice well alone...

I'm excited about these battles! I just hope a few happen while I'm online! haha.. past few I found out about when it was to late. But that's spontaneous RP for ya! Even if I missed em, I gotta say, the atmosphere they give is exciting, one can really sense the pending dangers :)

Admins get off your asses !!! dont whine about losing rp time !!!! its your job !!!
Come now Darthiir if your going to make points please make valid ones ,this rp is mainly admin generated ,the up coming plots are mainly admin generated to quote the good Mr Finesmith ,i think advice like that is best left alone

oooh and we will be sure to keep an eye open for you Alastair :)

I just have to say the changes in the last few days have been brilliant :D The keep is humming again (with screams from the dungeons) and the play has been some of the most enjoyable I've had in Karamoon yet!

So ta very much to all involved!

I must say now it is all a bit balanced and a bit settled down... I am over the first rather shock. We know what to expect now, it gives us more space to RP and fun can now really begin in my eyes.
