The other questions I'm going to list and then at the end I'll give my thoughts and ideas and open this up to discussions ^.^

As a Good guy what would like to see more of the villains?
more kidnappings and more subterfuge

Diversity of plots, long term storylines that aren't finished in a week

Rp combat. Realism. More thought. More stupid brutes
Wanton slaughter, war of sacrifice, more bloothirsty maniacs.

((These were a good example of how split people were on what was wanted))

More of them at different timezones

((This is something we can't control sorry. Trust me I wish we had them as well))

A challenge. Intricate plots are nice but mean nothing unless there is someone involved that isn't a push-over. The players AND characters need to respect the villian to get the appropriate response.

more torture and mutilation of prisoners

((Good points and woudl liek to point out however htat these are things that whiel we may be willign to do players on the whole have to let it happen and work with us also. Still I'm sure this is an easy fix.))

Being truly the Villian, despite the IC lack of "friends" it would bring. OOC people will understand, and if they do not, then they are not considerate players themselves.

((This is a another good point and aimed alot at what I think alot of players need to understand especially the evil ones who liek to be liked.))

As a Good guy what would like to see less of the villains?

outright mayhem - it's boring

stupidity

shyness!! the otehrs that do wander around seem to only doing that.. wandering

bad guys showing up in places they wouldn't just walk into and starting fights just because they're 'bad'

Inner squabblings. There are some sound evil characters, the problem is consolidation. None of them are on the same page or work together for the same evil cause, thus making the evil seem weaker than it truly is.

Switching sides every other day, friendships with whom are supposed to be the enemies. One every now and again yes, but when the entire keep has a friend in the port it becomes ridiculous.

less hiding away behind their walls & rping with only each other

kidnapping

((Obviously tthis proves you can't make everyone happy. AS the answers here are as varried as the what they want. Some want more fights others don't... This is an accepted fact. If you don't like all the fighting get out the way and if you don't think there is enough then don't hide. I'm not being mean by this but We can only go by what we're given to an extent. Clearly people hate random attacks for no reason so they want a reason. We're working a few things and I will tlak more on this later but suffice I put this here more so everyone can see why it's difficult for us at times. After all we kill you some complain we don't other will... Now poiints i did Like alot was more story less switching the goal after a day. I can't tell you how much that drives me up a wall alos and i fully plan to fix this.))

As a Bad guy what would like to see more of the villains?

more in house interactions, more people staying at home to let others roleplay with them

Better community

more cooperation with each other to get stuff done

Getting into actions/plots/adventures/dramas that affect the player base at large, not just the select few that make force their way into a situation.

More teamwork and attacks

More actually contributing to the Keep, too many Solo players

I would like to be able to participate in a group effort. Have a reward and something to further evil plans of a group.

((This all boiled down to one thing... Team evil was not being given enough to do.... Sad as i know for a fact Leadership has time and again given out ideas and suggestions... Are they perfect no but we can not and will not tell you what you need to be doing. Part of evil is being proactive not reactive. Take the reins and steer the horse yourself some... How else do you think alot of us got to the positions we hold now? Now that aside there are a few things I have in mind to give players more to do. Also for those evils who read my tenants I put out as a draft ((and if you didn't shame on you and you have no one to blame but you now if you're botred)) I outlined a few day to die ideas and simple enough things you can do to help us the kepe and yourselves as building a better evil.))

A heavier hand on multiple faction sharing. Unless there is an IC reason for members of the Keep to be in something outside the Keep, (like spywork) then they shouldn't be in other groups. its not about making friends OOC. its about RP.

((This i wanted to point out seperatly as another peeve of mine.... Unless I know you're a spy I find out you're mingling in a way not considered becoming and you're in for it... Not OOC mind you jus tIC I'm not going to slap peopla on the wrists and go don't go have tea with porties...))

As a Bad guy what would like to see less of the villains?

less solo cowboy antics and thinking one man is all mighty

Again, I'll stress... togetherness on one evil ideal. Sure players can have their individual spin, but all the villians need to have one main common goal.

All the petty in fighting and factions over nothing, mercs, and goodie goodie baddies

Random individual attacks without co-orperation

((This mostly goes back to people wanting more to do... which we'll give you but at the same time if have to actually do it otherwise what was the point...))

6. Over all summarize your general thoughts on the bad guys here in Karamoon and more of the Keep to help us make this a better rp for all? I really really need feedback on this one but will not mandate.. However the more ideas we get the better so please help us out here.

I feel that the villians in karamoon try very hard and its difficult being the bad guys when all the good guys wanna do is win over all the villians could use a little more guidance as it seems that they go through leaders like hotcakes which is a shame but maybe a group of leaders with a collective is in order

((This i wanted to put on for a good reason... It's true we go through alot of leaders becaue it's a ton of work... We need help player feedback and co-operation form those we are supposedly leading. I find to much me me me in the Keep and it's no wonder this faction well I'll be honest kinda sucks. you can not do this without a leader and we can not do this without you. The excuse just rping my character is load of crap. You signed onto the the keep to be evil.. if you can't follow orders at the least then go. You can be a wandering evil with no leaders and be jsut fine and not make the leaders lives hell for it.))

The few ring leaders are really good, but they're trying to do all the plots by themselves. I sense a conflict of story ideals for the keep, the Shattered Prince followers verses the demons. It could generate interest plot within the keep, but if there is that strong a conflict within the keep, how is the keep to be a formiddable force against the good factions? I really think the conflict over following the shattered prince should be resolved some, or decreased so that the bad guys can be a little more united in their evil purposes. I, personally, really like the shattered prince concept and would hate to see it go. I'm more in favor of it being more widely adopted. Maybe some of the demon players feel it invalidates their characters? I don't think it does.

Unity in a common Evil thought/Ideal and the player strength to not want to win popularity contests. This sadly can go with the good guys too. But there is too much of this strain to want to be the best friend of everyone IC that is making conflict in RP nearly imposible to play without someone complaining. On the unity in Evil, I can honestly say though Kain is "in charge" of the Keep, I have no clue what his intentions are and how he is instilling his leadership. All "keep" players just seem to run amuck and do as they please, which causes too much IC and OOC grief on the NEGATIVE side.

Personally, if it were all down to me(!) I have always watched the evil factions come and go in every sim I have played. They work well for a time and then either get bored, fed up or fight with each other. Yes, it is difficult playing truely evil. Like being a rl policeman, you limit your circle of friends you can interract with, amongst other things. I would look at making the actual Keep smaller, with the idea of a few demonic residents there. In the space made, add another complimentary human village. Something slightly darker, edgier, where humans and all races live and work but have a good relatonship with the keep. Trade would be more sensible between these two human based pop centres and the emphasise wouldnt be so much on the need to be oure evil, more that of warring human factions. Political powerstruggles etc.. Therefore the Keepies/ demons would not have the pressure to be the only evil and can come out and do there thing less frequently, but with more impact. They would not be the only force of conflict and excitement and there alliegance would be to a different clan or group.. could even sway occasionally.

there is not enough mayhem or intimidation, you can go weeks wihtout hearing anything of the keep. Many of its leaders though not all also are somewhat unintimidating and/or do not show their faces outside of their walls enough

(( I liked this casue it made me laugh somewhat... Cause i never see the govenor either :P and the Widl Elders show up only after we kilel da rabbit half the time. I think it is important to see the leaders do not get me wrong.. i love getting out of the keep to shake things up and for those who've met Mal know she liek sto meddle alot. Unintimidating however.. that's hard to do.. i can no more make you feel fear through a pc than one allows... i can no more be evil torture main hurt destroy than player consent... THese are things that when you say you must be evil but I'm offended by you kicking puppies well you've tied our ahnds on that then haven'ty you? So I only ask you understand we try not to step on peoples imits and so our evil can only go so far at times. Does this mean drink tea and eat crumpets... no... hell no even. Just remeber evil is as intimidating and as scary as your character lets it be.. I've seen some people with huge brass balls smart off to demons.. I mean really... i can be evil and scary but common sense has to come into play.. After all I coudl very well jsut have you drug to hell or the abyss or what have you and let the demons there ravage you for eternety.. it's not an unbelievable power for demons in honest. ))

It is nice to have storylines. But avoid cliches. And involve some regular townspeople. And have a bounty but not for a kill. Just for roleplay money or other benefits like a small house. Make it fit the times. And keep it going long enough so people can find time to get in there and to be part of it. A couple weeks per storyline at least.

7. For the Keepies and Villains of Clan infernal at least others feel free to add as you think you can. Why did you choose to play evil? what drives you to want to play such a black hearted villain and what woudl help you grow and become more in your role?

well whats more fun than being evil???
seriously society in rl frowns on murdering pillaging and raping so least in karamoon in SL you can do that kinda thing.

((Bingo this answer was perfect))

I have a goodie two shoes and a villian. I enjoy being the badguy because there needs to be more conflict in Karamoon. There is no point in good on good strife. I also like being a bit of a bitch.

((But there can be evil on evil...))

I don't really play evil. I could play it well, but would not enjoy it. I just have access to this survey.
However, I've given it thought and to enjoy playing evil, I'd want what I described above, a purpose, a cause, something to be working toward as a people, where we all know what the ultimate goal is and we know what kind of steps we're generally taking to achieve it. I think having such a thing would greatly aide those leading and take a large burden off of them. General ongoing tasks that involve combat, stealth, or confrontation with enemies or victims that will eventually reach the desired goal when enough is done will provide a solid fall back, but first the goal and cause must be defined, then the general tasks decided on. They should be adventurous, something a person can do any time. Gee, am I giving away who I am with this? *LOL* Anyways, with that, the cause and the adventure tasks to achieve the cause, other plot ideas wouldn't need to be thought up as often as they are needed now, more time could be put into their planning, because players would have something evil to do in the mean time. Also, the general cause and actions to achieve it would itself create plots just as a by product.
well whats more fun than being evil???

8. General feedback and comments here please

It is a good roleplay sim. It just needs to involve all of us. Even if we are regular townspeople or boring creatures who only come in sometimes. Have more town festivals and things that involve everyone. Also more events where nothing bad can happen...and then maybe once ina while something staged, bad, does anyway. Like say no weapons then arrange for someone to smuggle one in to a party and for someone pre arranged to get wounded (not killed). Keep things light but fun

Please, PLEASE, do NOT berate someone for playing an evil character. If icly a "good"character gets their feelings hurt by a baddie...so be it! That's part and parcel of having antagonists...the play the devil's advocate, stir controversy and mistrust...all for the sake of good roleplay. I know serveral people who gave up on KM and surrounding Ambrea regions because they were tired of being presecuted oocly for how "mean" their IC character was. That's one important thing that needs to be made clear...IC and OOC are different! The whiners need to be put in their place and taught rp perspective. Thank you.

Dont ever let the whinners push you away! Many of us love you badies and need yuou to exist ourselves. Elf Hugs to you all hahaha! dont choke ;p

keep vs port doesnt exist anymore. a real leader presence, someone who challanges port government

Another honesty. Among the groups, I feel the Keep does have the strongest players that are creative, deep, and solid. Moreso than any of the other groups around. I believe this is why i feel so strongly tied to the Keep even after not being a part of it. The players know how to roleplay, they are just all scattered within the Keep right now to properly showcase the power the Keep holds IN its players.

Good attempt.. but this needs to be done for all of karamoon.. not just the keep

So what does all this say?

THe Keep has alot of work ahead and I'm willing to make it happen. But I need my Keepies to understand and follow and I need everyone else to play along. Some of the Kepe players are new don't be harsh on them they're finidng thier feet. Help them guide them... You like being caught give one the chance too. They'll get to be evil you get caught and everyone gets to work more on building the persona they have here.. and of course he/she will get a cookie :P

So I hope this all helps and to my Keep players I have alot of work for you but I promise it will nly make the Keep the place to be.. Just give me your cooperation and I'll give 120% of what I can. Go US!!!!

thank you for sharing the results in the Survey! I'm glad it was helpful for you as it was insightful for me to read over. I'll also note that however you and the Keepies wish to progress your RP you can gladly poke at the fae for any cooperation, ideas, and such ooc and ic.

awesome job putting all of this together, Rachael. :)

An interesting survey, I'll take a copy of this and print it off to finish reading. Read through a little over half but some of it needs me to sit down and give a good time sinking it in. Part of it I read the comments of yours over more than the generalised comments. Until I read it over again a fair bit of what I'd input could likely be slightly misdirected though I will make the point that most things start off as a foundation, begin small and hidden building up.

But build up to what? The sim has several factions and some of these factions will be designed to oppose which is our first clue of what to do. Where these factions reside and what that represents is the next point of focus. Then objectives can be devised. I'm not sure how much of my thoughts I should talk about and how much I should just leave be to come across or miss entirely but I'll remind that -

the Keep seemed to be posed as the dominant military might of the region and the Port was the last outpost and sanctuary for those seeking to hold onto declared Independence from the "Overlord"/Leader of the Keep.

There are indirect ways of getting to a goal of playing with it in an rp sense then to just lay siege though it would be expected to happen at some time. Lets not forget that the Port was being built up to be a trade centre ...

If people get stuck from time to time, one can take a look at how the interactive entertainment industry makes its plots and stories develop, if one takes a look at Assassins Creed for example. It has a realm of multiple factions and the leaders are of direct influence and target including one close to oneself from the start with his own goals in the pursuit of power and its projection.

Faction role play is a chess board.
Allied factions also need their own objectives, they may choose to help "yours" if it seems to bring them closer to their own.
Factions need to manipulate each other, I say manipulate more than "friend"
The stronger factions that predict well how they'll be manipulated and turn the tables survive, the others become vassals - for a time.

Crap I need to write less -.-;

- on a side note, hope you all are doing well. Still be a while for my return, every time I get savings together something else needs them :/ but at least I can reach this place from time to time.

I agree, and yes... I've always seen the Port as the one which defends... and the Keep as the aggressor. I don't see a reason to build the Port to a militairy power (only the defence is rather important and helping others out; so yes, Guards and Knights are always welcome and a most respected faction within the Port)...

Tremendous effort Racheal, almost makes me want to turn nasty and help you....almost. Thank you for the effort xx

This was just the easy part... The real work comes in making it happen now :P

I understand the Keeps position in the past as a military might but that has waned alot either fortunatly or unfortunatly... More players have taken an interest as playing manipulators... Nothing worng with that it's good evil stuff to play people against each other as it is to kill them.

I am considering mandating a form of militia however which will basiclly require all keepeis be combat capable to a degree... Last thing I need is to actualyl require troops and have 2 whole knights.. At least with everyone invested and trained we coudl all raise arms as needed... Sides we're evil and sometimes you just got to stab a goodie.

I had a delightful chat yesterday with Rachael, as faction leader to faction leader. We discussed the outcome of the survey, how we feel about certain things and more. There are some things pretty clear to us both… and I do think that others see that as well. I will be quite harsh in this post, I know. Forgive me… But I do not want to offend anyone, to make shit out of anyone… or anything familiar. I just want to help as an RP player and as a faction leader.

The egos of many of the Keep are too big. They do not wish to work together, friendships are uncommon and backing each other up? Too little. Work together people. Have a pub brawl in the tavern to decide what whos place is in the hierarchy and accept that. Because I think the following is very important:
- Work together in teams. We have seen that people want to see a balance between brutal RP with hack n slash and they want to see the RP without swords and with more manipulation. Also the players of the Keep told us that they wish to see both. Create two camps people! Two squads. Don’t do stuff on your own, but with your team. Your name will become most infamous and feared! For both of the teams, the swords slingers and the manipulators.
- Find a goal to go for. I have given Rachael an idea which will… boost the morale of the Keep and will also create great RP! Not only to gain power and territory for the Keep… but also to create a longer lasting RP where people will have to work together…. Else? They will fall damn hard and there will be some asses getting kicked.

So yes, that was the biggest concern actually, the uncontrollable nature of some players. I do not believe it is personal, I believe it is a lack of proper guidance or goals not being put out. So I hope that the players who are playing at the Keep will pick this up, work together and terrorize Ambrea together in the name of the Keep…

Also friendships. ”Oh I cannot attack the wilds, I have friends there” Wrong. How can some have more friends in the Wilds than in the Keep? Sorry to say, OOC we can all be friends… IC to keep your char realistic can’t be friends with everybody. You play for the Keep, act like one. Betray your friends, use them in ways which will benefit you. It is evil, it is fun.

I hope that I have given a small signal of my ideas and visions. I want to thank Rachael again for the chat… and I hope that you, RP players, will see the possibilities I’ve just handed out.

Don’t forget, we have all at least one thing in common: We love RP. Help each other with what we have in common; it will only raise the levels of joy in RP… for you and for the others.
