Well today was the last straw on a pile that has been building for some time.

I'm going to be leaving Karamoon for some time, the style of play has been shifting and I have found myself getting angry as often as I have a good time.

We all agreed to a set of rules when we got here, one of these is that the final arbiter of conflict is metered combat. I consider myself a good roleplayer but I also like the fight, I don't ambush without warning, I don't pick on those weaker than I (If I fight someone of a lower level I give them plenty of time to escape, or otherwise get out of it). But time and time again I am accused of being a poor roleplayer for this behavior.

The reason I prefer meter combat is that almost every 'pure roleplay' fight I have gotten into has taken over an hour without my opponent allowing themselves a single defeat, no matter the power level between us. I know RP combat can be good, but time and time again it has proven mainly to be an excuse for a low level character to be unbeatable.

And lest I be accused of just wanting to win, I lose FAR more fights than I win. I pick fights with those more powerful than me, large groups, or when I am in no condition to win.

Anyway, that tangent aside, I wish you all the best, I hope Karamoon brings you a lot of joy, I understand that my style of play just doesn't mesh anymore. I'll probably pop in from time to time to see what's happening. I have a lot of great memories here, I just need to make sure they stay that way.

I am a meter fighter too and I dont think you need to justify yourself for being a meter combat fighter or if you prefer to win a fight instead to be defeated - that sounds more than reasonable.

All that is done under rules has right to be played as anyone prefer.

But why leaving without discussing this thing ?

maybe this problem bothers not only you - I hope you can take a minute (or maybe more than one : ) ) and come to the meeting that there will be on saturday august 8th at noon

It will be an OOC meeting to speak right about all these things that seems to be not solved and we can try to find a way together

And also the admins are always ready to hear and try to resolve any trouble that can rise

Your style of play sounds like it IS the style of Karamoon, and you shouldnt feel any different.
Good advice from Tim.. ignore the drama mules.. and do what you do best when you return...

I do wonder at times.... Now I've never met you personally.... but I tend to rather rp fight.. and like you.. lose most of them... however in meter combat I win most... does it bother me? In rp.. hell no... I don't mind losing.... Because it goes flipside as well... You get these high level nobodies in rp that can apparently kick your ass too... or someone who you know should be able to beat you in one way or another, yet you cream them in meter fights. There's also some meter players who get upset... due to the meter rules not exacly being clear on a few aspects and are then used unfairly. Meter is a great big problem in Karamoon... half are for rp.. half are for meter... some are flexible however and do both... I honestly don't know if I'll be here longer myself for that reason... however opposite of yours it may be. But I can understand the frustration. Maybe Karamoon should just make two sections.... one for meter combat.. and one for rp only combat... only to take out meter when there's a war. Or two groups... I know it may split up the community in sorts.. but would certainly keep things calm amongst the players.Put rp combatants together with others... and meter together with others... about all I can come up with at this point... I'm rather tired of this dilemma.
